FIFA ticket investigation
26th February 2006
FIFA have launched an investigation into illegal ticket sales after an agency were discovered selling £68 for £900. FIFA have said that all tickets sold by these types of agents are invalid and may result in the holder being refused entry to the stadium. UK anti-hooligan laws make it a criminal offence for anyone to sell tickets other than official bodies.

The case will be interesting as recently, FIFA vice president, Jack Warner was found to have breached FIFA's code of ethics when his families travel agency were given the rights to sell Trinidad and Tobago's entire allocation of tickets.  BBC News

Injury concerns
26th February 2006
With a little more than 3 months to the start of the World Cup, players and managers are getting concerned every time a player goes down with an injury. Italian striker, Francesco Totti is currently recovering from a broken fibula and could be out of action for another 10 weeks. Bear in mind there is a cut-off date for when squads have to be confirmed, it is easy to understand the concerns. England manager, Sven-Goran Eriksson has said he cringes every time an England player goes down. Striker Michael Owen is also in the treatment room following a foot injury but it is thought he will recover in time for the tournament. It's not only outfield players who are at risk. In the recent Champions League match between Bayern Munich and AC Milan, Nelson Dida was stretchered off after injuring his ankle. This time, however, the injury does not appear to be too serious.

World Cup to tour Germany
24th February 2006
Traditionally, the World Cup trophy is rarely seen in public normally only on show on the draw ceremony for the finals, the tournament's opening match and the final. This time, the trophy will be making a tour of 21 cities all over Germany. The tour begins in Freiburg on 11th April and finishes on 26th May in Hamburg. There were similar trophy tours in 1998 and 2002 but a replica was used on both occasions.
