Rooney takes part in training

Wayne Rooney has taken part in England's first training session since arriving in Germany yesterday. Pictures in the English press showed Rooney scissor-kicking a ball and his recovery from breaking his 4th metatarsal in April would appear to be ahead of schedule. Tomorrow, Rooney will have a scan to check how well the break has healed. England's first game is on Saturday against Paraguay in Frankfurt, although Rooney is not expected to appear for England until the knock-out stages of the tournament.
